Knife Crime Awareness Week 18th - 22nd May 2026 |

Last week the Child Centred Policing Team supported Op Sceptre Week, the national week of action raising awareness around knife crime. During this time, we delivered a range of engagement sessions in schools across the area, focusing on educating young people about the risks and consequences of carrying knives, as well as how to keep themselves and others safe. We also held a weapon-focused Jiu-Jitsu session at the Gracie Barra Centre on Wednesday 20th May. This session was focussed on helping young people understand how to respond safely in emergency situations. Knife crime has devastating consequences, and prevention starts with awareness and open conversations.
